“This wonderful custom home was completed in Nov of 2019. It is nestled in the most peaceful setting of Grifo Alto which is located in the mountains of Puriscal. The only sounds you hear are the songs of all the different tropical birds.
This open floor planned home starts with a custom designed double front doors which are surrounded with decorative tile. Through out the home, all cabinets and pantry are custom built in Shaker design. The kitchen has an exotic blue quartzite countertop mined in Brazil, and the large eat-in island sports a Teak wood top.
All the floors in the home, the front porch, and balcony are porcelain tile tying the inside to the outside. Every room looks out the back of the home at the peaceful views of the mountains and the Bay of Nicoya. The home has two full bathrooms with custom cabinets and counter top sinks with large faucets. The main bathroom has a huge rain shower head. Both showers are large walk-in showers that are wheelchair friendly. There are two walk-in closets, which is unusual for a home in Costa Rica. Both closets have fans with light kits to take care of any moisture during the rainy season. There are also two in-floor drains for dehumidifiers if needed during the wet season.
This home is loaded with many extra conveniences including radiant barrier in the roof for keeping temperatures pleasant inside, a tankless hot water system, a silent dishwasher, stainless appliances, and an alarm system complete with cameras. There is an electric gate across the front for ease of privacy and security. On the side of the home is a fenced in grass area for your pets. The yard is complete with many tropical plants, banana, orange, almond, and avocado trees. It is a treat living in this home and being able to sit on your balcony in complete privacy enjoying the wonderful year round temperatures, looking at the views and listening to the birds singing into the sunset.”

The old cathedral was built by Fr. Juan Cortez de Paja who took a vow of celibacy after an Indian Princess died from Influenza that she had caught from him. On the centennial of her death an earthquake destroyed the edifice.
